MENTAL HEALTH

Hands of Mercy Everywhere, Inc. (H.O.M.E.) a program of LSF supports teen mothers facing mental health challenges resulting from a history of abuse, depression, sexual assault, or PTSD. Onsite counselors help harness their strengths, fostering a meaningful and positive attachment relationship, ultimately leading to favorable outcomes. Skilled intervention and compassionate support offer the best chance for guiding teen moms back on track and nurturing the foundation for their future development, with Infant Mental Health professionals available to assist both mother and baby.

The program is funded by a grant from the Marion County Hospital District.

ART THERAPY

Art therapy provides a range of benefits for the girls seeking therapeutic support. Through artistic expression, it allows for the exploration and processing of emotions, promoting emotional healing and self-discovery. Art therapy has been found to enhance self-esteem, reduce stress, and improve overall mental well-being, making it a valuable tool in fostering personal growth and psychological resilience.

MUSIC THERAPY

Music therapy offers a multitude of benefits for girls at Hands of Mercy Everywhere, Inc. (H.O.M.E.) a program of LSF. It has been shown to improve emotional well-being, reduce stress and anxiety, and enhance overall mood. Additionally, music therapy can enhance cognitive abilities, promote self-expression, and foster social connections, making it a powerful tool for personal growth and healing.

EQUINE THERAPY

Equine therapy at Hands of Mercy Everywhere, Inc. (H.O.M.E.) a program of LSF provides a transformative experience for girls seeking healing and growth. Through interactions with horses, these girls find solace, build trust, and develop essential life skills. The therapeutic power of the human-horse connection becomes a catalyst for their emotional and psychological well-being, fostering resilience and empowerment in their journey towards recovery.

ONSITE COUNSELING

Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy or counseling that aims at addressing the needs of children and adolescents with post-traumatic stress disorder and other difficulties related to traumatic life events.

The girls at H.O.M.E. - LSF have access to the mental health professionals on staff through out each day and on-call as needed.
